Thematic Workshop: Biological assembly across scales

Thematic Workshop: Biological assembly across scales

Nature is about assembly: atoms form various molecules, proteins monomers assemble into complex structures, different cells amass into communities such as biofilms or constitute tissues and organs architecting multicellular organisms, and such organisms interact with each other and between different species resulting in complex communities, ecosystems, and biomes. Often these biological assemblies across different scales do not completely occur at random but result from precise mechanisms and selected processes that deeply shape the functioning of life and the aspects of biodiversity. This symposium proposes a journey into different aspects of the biological assemblies occurring at different spatial and temporal scales.
