While the phenomenon of disinformation has become a public concern, most remains unknown about its impact on people’s beliefs and opinions. Located at the crossroads of cognitive sciences and media studies, the goal of this PhD project is twofold. First, to better understand how people receive and interpret "fake news" through an analysis of the digital public space, and the dynamics of public expression and social interaction both online and in real-life. Second, to test more calibrated educational methods - based on these preliminary findings - for critical thinking to hamper the phenomenon.
