On November 23-24, Techfugees France, in partnership with Cisco France, Singa France, CRI, re:Start and the Syndicat National du Jeu Video, is organizing a hackathon to create games or gamify technological solutions around education for refugees and displaced populations, particularly to facilitate the learning of French.
By putting the learner at the heart of the process, games facilitate engagement, memorization and help develop motivation. It is a universal way to make learning more attractive and therefore more effective.
Following the study of NGO reports and interviews with several associations supporting the inclusion of displaced persons in France, Techfugees France has identified several major education-related needs that will be at the heart of this hackathon:
Before the training - Train the trainers : This challenge is intended to improve, through technology, the training tools for volunteers teaching French to migrants
During the training - Train the learners : This challenge is intended to promote the creation and dissemination of digital content intended for the training of specific sub-publics (e.g. the illiterate).
