Hybrid Intelligence and Human-AI co-creativity

Hybrid Intelligence and Human-AI co-creativity

Hybrid Intelligence combines advances in AI, cognitive science and management research to maximize human-AI synergies and success in real-world organizational implementations. Perhaps one of the most striking examples for the potential of hybrid intelligence is in human-AI co-creativity in which expert and amateur users seamlessly control the powerful computational creativity algorithms. This trend is most prominently seen in the explosion of research and technological outputs on text-to-x spearheaded by the release of Open AI’s Dall-E in January 2021. Yet very little is known about the cognitive processes at play when humans use these technologies, or the effect the technologies' have on the future of Future of work. In this talk I will present my work on this topic which falls into three main projects:

  1. Understanding and assessing human creativity at scale via an AI enhanced game-based portfolio
  2. Facilitating creative problem solving on complex socio-scientific issues via an AI enhanced game-based platform
  3. Investigating the adoption of human-AI co-creative technologies by creative professionals
